Your 100 Day Prayer

Your 100 Day Prayer
The Transforming Power of Actively Waiting on God
by; John Snyde

I found this book to be simultaneously very easy to read, and very hard to read. It was inspiring, but at times discouraging. It was easy to read because the writer writes heart-to-heart, in plain terms. It was hard because it's so darn challenging.

Sun Stand Still is an important and powerful call to trust God to do things completely beyond our own ability, while also giving it absolutely all we've got. If you've got a dream but are lacking the faith to see it come to pass, or if you just find yourself too stuck in comfort and safe prayers, this is definitely a book worth checking out.

If your use of time and money has become a problem or you struggle in your relationships or with sexual sin, this book may be a good place for you to start. This book is to convince you that by surrendering yourself totally to God's purposes, He will bring you the most pleasure in this life and the next.As I see it, a lukewarm Christian is an oxymoron; there is no such thing. To put it plainly, church goers who are "lukewarm" are not christians. We will not see them in Heaven.

I came very close to missing the blessing God had for me through this book.

Stained Glass Hearts

Stained Glass Hearts

This book is a delightful visit with Patsy, 'm reading it again.
Highly recommended book!!! I have always enjoyed Patsy Clairmont but I think this is her best book....
I bought this book after hearing Patsy at Women of Faith Conference. It is a very easy and enjoyable read. I would recommend this book to anyone. I bought this book after hearing Patsy at Women of Faith Conference. It is a very easy and enjoyable read. I would recommend this book to anyone.
This book is wonderful, because of all the negative impact and discouragement we all get in the world, we need to be reminded Who loves us and keeps us taken care of. There are Bible verses to back up each devotion. f you can pierce through the visual barrier of the book jacket, the content will grab your heart, because it is Jesus speaking though one of his beloved daughters. f you are short on time and enjoy golden nuggets of truth regarding the bible and the personal relatinship that Jesus desires for everyone then these books are for you. Great for the beginners and seasoned faith beleivers as well.

I got a free copy of this for my fair and honest review.

Heaven Is for Real for Kids

Heaven Is for Real for Kids

This is a very easy and pleasant read with insights that come to you long after the last page has been turned.
the book is simply written yet profoundly deep. In it, Murphey looks at the lives of Jesus' disciples, and writes about his own life with candor that will challenge the reader's theology on grace and acceptance. By the end of the book, the reader will see that, no matter the circumstances, God chases after each of us until we run back into his arms of love. This book is a must read for anyone who struggles with a performance-driven life, or for those who want to understand God in an infinitely deeper way. Right away, one would think that Wiese just had a nightmare, but Wiese is convinced that he had an out-of-body experience where his soul literally descended into Hell. Wiese insists that this wasn't just a dream. This book will wake up the Dead. I know because I've left it to where anybody could read it and for those that did, their reading experience was similar. A great witnessing tool. I loved it from the very first page. It has a ring of truth. Most of the book is about what happened to Mr. Piper after his experience in heaven and during his long, painful recovery. I bought many copies and gave them to family and friends, urging them to read it as I believe it has the power to transform lives.

Heaven is For Real

Heaven is For Real, DVD-Based Conversation Kit

By: Todd Burpo

I also love the honesty with which he describes his pain and depression and the inevitable questions that we must face when we have close encounters with the Almighty. The God we meet is often not the one we expected, and while we can't understand why God does what He does. I loved it from the very first page. It has a ring of truth. This book will wake up the Dead. I know because I've left it to where anybody could read it and for those that did, their reading experience was similar. Utterly readable & truly inspiring. Two thumbs up!!! This is one that you'll be referencing & re-reading for a long time to come.
In this new one he explores how unforgiveness is actually a learned behavior. If you don't forgive, then that issue can eat you inside like a cancer. He encourages to let it go, forgive, let your life go on.... it's better for yourself if you forgive so you can continue your life, and also so that you can be forgiven, too.

This book is easy to read, and I really recommend this book to those of us that are women, and have women in our lives. Giving support to others through what you can read in this book could possibly give others a greater perspective.

This book is amazing, it will change your heart your soul completely!  Everything was as described in the add and I received it when I expected. A good experience overall.

The Encounter

Sometimes God Has to Intervene
  By Steve Arterburn

The encounter is a book that will help you look into your life to make better choices that will allow you to heal. If there is something in your life that you feel you need to work on, this could be the book to help you do it. Even if you were living in the worst possible abusive situation or the most neglectful and disconnected relationship, you may have built a wall that keeps you stuck in a dark place where you don't have to stay. Once you take responsibility, you will find new hope and insight as you get your life unstuck and move past your wall.
I've read a boat-load of Christian books, but consistent emotional health seems to continue slipping from my desperate grasp.   I highly recommend this book and if you are like me have a pen, paper and marker handy as you will be using them and  I know there's a lesson there for me and everyone who reads this wonderful book.  The book starts out great, listing for us the personal and interpersonal traits of unsafe people, such as being defensive instead of open to feedback, only apologizing instead of changing their behavior, demanding trust instead of earning it, resisting freedom instead of encouraging it, staying in parent/child roles instead of relating as equals, being a negative rather than a positive influence on us, and being unstable over time instead of being consistent.

The 13th Tribe

The 13th Tribe
    By Robert Liparulo

There is more of a Christian theme here than many of the other novels, but it is not preachy, just full of the true meaning of Christmas. I'm happy to run across this treasure and know that there are more of them in store for me. Highly recommend this book for holiday reading!
he 13th Tribe is a story of a group of immortals (the titular Thirteenth Tribe), cursed to roam the earth for all eternity as punishment for turning away from the god of Moses at Mount Sinai and instead worshiping the golden calf. They seek out vengeance against those they perceive as sinners as a twisted attempt to win back God's favour. Caught in the middle is the unlikely named Jagger Baird, a former Army Ranger with a prosthetic arm and a (stereotypical) chip on his shoulder.

The foot of Mount Sinai the children of Israel made a big mistake. It’s true Moses had been gone 40 days after he headed up the mountain of God, but an all out rebellion culminating in the unbridled worship of a golden calf was unforgiveable. God’s justice was swift, and according to the newest novel by author Robert Liparulo, it resulted in the creation of a “13th Tribe,” a band of immortals banished from the presence of God for their sin at Sinai. Living throughout the millenniums, they for...

Drawing a unique picture of the events that transpired when Moses received the Ten Commandments from God, Robert Liparulo's novel The 13th Tribe presents a thrilling premise which merges biblical history with modern technology.
Jagger, still recovering from an accident which left him with an artificial arm, is suddenly thrown into the fight of Immortals, the 13th Tribe, who are trying to appease God by punishing sinners, thus trying to earn forgiveness and consequently mortality again.
Of course an intriguing plot isn't enough to make a novel stand out.

Love Lifted Me

Love Lifted MeA Songbird Novel

By Sara Evans with Rachel Hauck

I had never heard of the Songbird series and didn't realize that Sara Evans was involved in something like this. Rachel, it's a pleasure to "meet" you! I will have to check these books out--they promise to be rewarding in more ways than one.
Just finished this book...and I had to slow down my reading speed because I ENJOYED it that much! I was so thrilled to received the pre-order even earlier than expected. SUPERB writing...great job Rachel! I have also read the two previous books and highly recommend this series to anyone wanting to get "lost" in a good book.Beautiful review, Serena!! I have read this book and it is all that you say and more!! Excellent read you won't want to put down.

I wanted to like this book, and for the most part, I did. The story is a cute story about a couple who works on their rocky marriage. I loved how both the wife and husband had baggage, and grace and forgiveness were main themes of this book. Max, the recently recovered addict, leaves his lawyer career to pursue coaching football. His wife Jade goes with him, and learns to trust her husband again after his addiction and infidelity. There were moments that reminded me of the Friday Night Light. This book was like,“Facing the Giants” with southern spice. Jade and Max had a rough beginning to their marriage. He cheated and out of that union came Asa, a son. After Asa’s mother died, Jade took in the little boy like her own showing love and faith, struggling against fears and an old habit of running away from things and situations.

Max goes to work in Texas as part of his rehabilitation after getting confronted with his prescription drug addiction. After months of being clean.
n this sequel to Softly and Tenderly, Jade is trying to heal from Max's betrayal. She still doesn't trust him, but she's fallen in love with Asa his two-year-old illegitimate son. Max returns from the Outpost Rehab Ranch in Texas where he has been coaching football for the Randall County rec center team. Now Jade and Max have to figure out how to become a family again or whether it's still possible. I have really enjoyed all three of these and hope there are more to come. I'm never sure of a singer or actor that crosses over into writing but tgese were a nice surprise.
